Monitoring in ICAD

ICAD, the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi, is a planned industrial city in the Mussafah area on the mainland, laid out in regular plots and roads for factories, stores and distribution. A logger in a planned industrial city is concerned with whatever its plots happen to hold: food and packaging stock, materials that have a labelled limit, or finished goods waiting in a store under a metal roof in summer heat. What follows is limited to the stock and rooms a logger user could look after on an ICAD plot. Enquiries about ICAD are handled through the enquiry form, Call or WhatsApp.

Where We Work in ICAD

  • Factory finished-goods stores

Plants of many kinds keep finished stock in cooled halls that must hold a range while loading doors open and shut through the day.

  • Raw-material and ingredient stores

Ingredients, resins, additives and components wait in sheds between arrival and use, and some carry limits that summer heat can break.

  • Distribution sheds

Stock for shops and kitchens is sorted in sheds with wide doors, where cool indoor air meets the heat outside every time a vehicle backs in.

  • Vehicle bays and loading yards

Loaded vehicles stand in the sun, and the cargo inside a covered van can run far hotter than the shaded outside air.

Industries

Industries We Support in ICAD

  • Food & Beverage

A food maker on an ICAD plot answering to shops and kitchens can show with a log that its chilled rooms and finished-goods stores held their limits for every batch.

  • Chemical

Makers and stockists of coatings, adhesives and cleaning products store materials with labelled ranges, and a dated record shows whether a pallet stood too hot for too long.

  • Electronics Manufacturing

Component and equipment stores sensitive to heat and humidity gain from a steady record, because a hot, damp spell can harm parts that look sound on a shelf.

Services

Temperature Data Logger Services in ICAD

For a planned industrial city we would consider WiFi loggers for halls and cold rooms with a router, probe-type loggers for freezers and chilled rooms, multi-point units along long storage halls, and loggers that travel in a load. VEGA Calibrations, our parent company, can talk through calibration for ICAD users. A WiFi logger needs a router within range and a supply of power, and for a vehicle or an open yard we would explain the alternatives. We say nothing on supply until a request for ICAD has been looked at.

Visits

How Visits Are Arranged

No visit or installation at ICAD is promised. Send the business, the rooms to be watched and a contact through the enquiry form, Call or WhatsApp, and we review the request and say what is practical, including whether a video call could explain the set-up.

Where we would start

If a request went ahead, we would start with the store holding the most heat-sensitive stock, placing one logger near the door and one at the back, then add a unit reading humidity where cold air meets warm. The first summer weeks would show which hours of the day push the hall outside its range.

FAQ

ICAD FAQs

With a temperature data logger in ICAD, can a plot holder in a planned industrial city monitor several rooms?

Yes. Several loggers, each in its own room, report to one dashboard, and a combined report for any period can be exported in PDF, Excel or CSV form. See how a Prithvi temperature data logger works.

Why record humidity as well as temperature in a desert country?

Sea air reaches the mainland, doors admit damp air that condenses on cold surfaces, and some stock reacts to moisture, so a humidity trend shows what temperature alone cannot.
