About monitoring here
Satara lies on the Krishna river at the foot of the Sahyadri, on the old highway between Pune and Kolhapur, and its storage reflects a district of farms, dams and small estates more than one of large factories. The MIDC estates at Satara and Additional Satara hold engineering, component and food units, Shirwal nearer Pune has a bigger estate, and Karad, with its sugar mills and teaching hospital, is the second centre of the district. Strawberries from Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani, milk and sugar all pass through its markets. A temperature data logger in Satara may therefore watch a fruit chamber, a dairy chiller, a hospital pharmacy or a spares store, in a district where rain ranges from extreme in the hills to modest on the plains. A phone alert is worth most in the small hours.
The crest of the Sahyadri takes some of the heaviest rain in the state while the eastern plains of the district stay comparatively dry, so a cold room at Mahabaleshwar fights damp in a way a store at Phaltan never does.
Areas
Two estates close to the city on the highway, with engineering, component and food units on mixed plot sizes and warehouses along the service roads.
A larger estate on the Pune side of the Khambatki ghat, where plants of several kinds hold stock in bigger buildings that sit well apart.
The second city of the district, where the Krishna and Koyna rivers meet, with sugar mills, a medical college, hospitals and busy markets.
Hill stations where strawberries are grown and sold fresh, and where hotels and kitchens run cold rooms in a wet and cool climate.
A town on the drier eastern plains with sugar mills and farm produce, where summers are warmer and the rains lighter than in the hills.
Industries
Strawberry growers and packers, dairies and sugar processors hold produce for short windows, and a probe in each chamber shows whether fruit stayed at the right temperature between the hills and the road to Pune.
Hospitals at Karad and Satara serve a wide rural district, so their blood banks, vaccine fridges and pharmacies need alarms that reach staff when the power fails in a hill-country storm.
Warehouses along the highway take goods moving between Pune and Kolhapur, and a reading at the dock door shows how long a load stood in the sun before it was stored.
Medicine distributors supply chemists and clinics in small towns spread across the district, from stores that need a record for days when nobody is at the shop.

Setu in Satara: A single-point logger with an optional external probe is quick to fit in a clinic fridge or a village dairy chiller and simple to read.

Temperature + humidity
Single-channel WiFi temperature and humidity logger, internal or external sensor.
Nakshatra in Satara: Reads humidity with temperature, which matters in hill-station cold rooms where wet air surrounds fruit and packaging for months.

Temperature + humidity
SIM-based GSM logger for sites and vehicles without Wi-Fi.
Vayu in Satara: A GSM logger reports over the mobile network, so a cold room on a farm or in the hills can be watched without WiFi wherever there is a signal.

Why Prithvi
FAQ
A GSM logger sends readings and alerts over the mobile network, so an outlying cold room can be watched without WiFi wherever there is a signal. For sites that do have WiFi we suggest the WiFi models.
Yes. The three lie along the same highway, so we plan visits in one direction and group nearby sites. Tell us the town and what you store, and we propose a day with your team. See how a Prithvi temperature data logger works.
Probes at the warm and cool ends of the chamber, with a humidity reading, show how quickly fruit cools after picking and whether the room holds its range as vans come and go. Tell us the size of the room and we suggest the points.
VEGA Calibrations, our parent company, handles calibration of loggers and probes and supports mapping and validation. Send the model and the range you work to, and we explain how it is arranged.
