Monitoring in Sultan Qaboos Port Muttrah
The Sultan Qaboos Port at Muttrah is the commercial harbour of the old town, set on a bay of the Gulf of Oman with bare mountains behind. Around any harbour there is waiting: food, supplies and general goods that come off a ship, stand on a quay or in a shed, and go on by road. A temperature data logger in that chain keeps a record of what the goods met on the way, in air that is hot, damp and salty. The text below is limited to the kinds of goods and rooms a logger user may look after around a harbour. Enquiries about the port area are handled through the enquiry form, Call or WhatsApp.

Where We Work in Sultan Qaboos Port Muttrah
Sheds along the quay
Goods wait in sheds whose wide doors let warm, damp sea air flood in whenever they open, while the metal roof sets the temperature inside.
Chilled rooms and refrigerated boxes
Chilled and frozen food and health supplies may sit in a cold room or a refrigerated box, and the hours between plug-in points are the fragile part of the chain.
Warehouses just past the gate
Traders store food, drinks and household goods in warehouses close to the harbour, where heat builds under the roof through the afternoon.
Lorries and vans collecting goods
Lorries and vans collecting goods stand with their cargo in the sun, and a covered load can end up far hotter than the shade.
Industries
Industries We Support in Sultan Qaboos Port Muttrah
Logistics & Warehousing
A firm that stores goods for several traders can give each trader an account of how its pallets were kept, rather than a remark about the shed.
Food & Beverage
Chilled and frozen food crossing a harbour needs proof of how it was held between ship and shop, and a small logger packed in with the cartons supplies exactly that.
Pharmaceutical
Health supplies and medicines held beside the quay need a dated record of temperature, so that a distributor can tell whether a pack waited too long in the heat.
Services
Temperature Data Logger Services in Sultan Qaboos Port Muttrah
Around the Muttrah quays we would suggest WiFi loggers in sheds and cold rooms that sit within reach of a router, probe loggers in freezers and refrigerated boxes, and loggers carried inside a consignment so that its journey is recorded. Questions about calibration can go to VEGA Calibrations, our parent company. WiFi units depend on a router and mains power, and for a quay or a vehicle we set out other ways. Whether anything can be supplied is left open until a request has been looked at.
GSM versions are available. Contact us to confirm network compatibility for your country.
Visits
How Visits Are Arranged
Nothing is promised about visits or installation at the port. Share the business, the load or room to be watched and a contact on the enquiry form, Call or WhatsApp, and we study the request and tell you what appears achievable.
Where we would start
If a request went ahead, we would start with the load or cold room that is hardest to replace, putting one logger inside the cargo or beside the door and another at the far wall, then bring in a humidity unit at the point where chilled goods meet damp air. A short run of data would show how long stock really stands between stages.
FAQ
Sultan Qaboos Port Muttrah FAQs
With a temperature data logger in Sultan Qaboos Port Muttrah, can a small logger travel in a carton along a harbour chain?
Yes. A logger slipped in among the cartons records the whole trip, and its report can be exported as a PDF, Excel or CSV file for whoever receives the load. See how a Prithvi temperature data logger works.
Does a shed beside a bay need humidity records as well as temperature?
Damp, warm air settles as water on cold surfaces and softens cartons, so a humidity line next to the temperature shows when stock picked up moisture and how long it stayed that way.
